According to the latest roadmaps Intel has shown its partners, there's not only logos for Centrino Duo, for Core Duo and the like, but the firm has also re-segmented its desktop motherboard roadmap to reflect other changes coming during this year.
For desktop roadmaps, there's a total of five different tiers, aimed at different sectors of the market and with logos to boot.
These will be called the Intel Extreme Series, Executive Series, Media Series, Classic Series, and the Essential Series.
The first speaks for itself 0 includes the Intel XE family in the shape of motherboards Black Creek, Chisholm Trail, and Bad Axe. The last is more formally called the D975BX, using the 975 chipset, supporting dual channel DDR2 600, an ATX form factor which is Viiv ready.
Intel has told its customers it will release a Conroe XE microprocessor later this year.
